The Christensen Law Group is open for business!

August 24, 2011

The Christensen Law Group is a California-based law firm specializing in employment litigation and counseling, insurance coverage and bad faith defense, and commercial litigation. The principal of the firm, Kevin M. (Casey) Christensen, is a California and North Carolina admitted attorney with 18 years’ experience representing small and medium businesses (and some Fortune 500’s, too), entrepreneurs, and individuals.

Casey received his law degree, cum laude, in 1993 from UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, California. Casey completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA, earning his bachelor’s degree in 1990. His clients include Fortune 500 companies, small and medium-sized businesses and individuals. Prior to forming the Christensen Law Group, Casey was partner and employment law practice leader of Portland, OR-based Bullivant Houser Bailey and California-based Archer Norris. Casey has extensive litigation, counseling and risk management experience, and has tried or arbitrated more than a dozen cases to verdict/judgment — for both plaintiffs and defendants — in his career. Casey is also the author of this blog.

Rafael A. Icaza, a California lawyer since 1994, is of counsel to the Christensen Law Group. Rafael also specializes in employment law and litigation, administrative law and business transactions. Rafael received his law degree from UCLA School of Law in 1994, and earned his bachelor’s degree in English in 1989 from UC Berkeley. Rafael was a founding partner of Berkeley-based Duran, Ochoa and Icaza, which received the Alameda County Bar Association Distinguised Service Award in 2003.  He has also served as senior counsel to two California state agencies, and as general counsel to public policy groups and businesses.

Casey and Rafael are frequent speakers before industry groups and other audiences about recent legal developments and other issues in their areas of expertise.

The firm maintains relationships with, and retains on an as needed basis, other legal professionals. This arrangement permits us to staff virtually any case at an appropriate level, while at the same time maintaining reasonable rates for each of our clients.

Please visit our website in the coming days for additional information about us.

Whether you are a new business, an established company, or an individual with a legal question, we look forward to hearing from you. We recognize that no matter how big you may be, your legal issues are vitally important to you. And we are committed to giving your matters the attention and service you deserve. (We also appreciate referrals from attorneys, and pay referral fees in accordance with applicable legal and ethical requirements.)

Thanks for listening. Now (well, soon, anyway) back to the regularly scheduled employment law broadcast.
